A brief history of Siba.
I was born on the 28th day of June 1994 at 7:35 am. It was the coldest Tuesday morning in Zambia or at least that’s how my mum remembers it. It wasn’t long before I was whisked away to Gaborone aka #GabsCity, the metropolis of Botswana. I was lucky enough to spend my school holidays in Tsabong, a small town located in the sandy savanna that is the Kalahari [Kgalagadi] desert. My siblings and I would climb the sand dune’s for fun under the scorching sun. Good times.
Before I knew it, I was sent to boarding school in Zambia, where I got my first taste of independence. I had the time of my life with my fellow boarders; the food sucked, the beds were rock hard but it was one of the happiest times of my life.
I was halfway through my second year in boarding school when, suddenly, my brother and I were plucked and plopped on to a one way flight to England. I currently reside in Nottingham, also know as Robin Hood city. However, these day’s I spend a lot of time in London, arguably my third favourite city in the world. You can usually find me at the local library reading a picture book.
Please enjoy this blog with me and feel free to comment. My goal is to write about anything and everything that takes my fancy. You can expect to find a freshly baked post every Sunday evening.
